It's an anniversary--1600-2 official introduction

9 March 1966, Operaplatz, Munich:  as part of BMW's 50th anniversary celebration, the new affordable BMW 1600-2 was introduced to a waiting public.  We all know what happened afterwards...

Nice post Mike!  Also a proud 1600 owner and I was born just 38 days after the introduction of the new 1600-2.  As a bonus,a few shots of what she looks like today.

Jeez guys...rub it in...I was a couple of months away from my BA and a set of shiny 2/Lt's bars...and a little over 3 years away from my first 2002...

And nine months later this happened in Dec 1966
