1974 tii Engine block 2782583

Looking for a long lost block from my Sahara 1974 tii 2782583.  It was replaced with a Metric Mechanic long block back in the early 2000's.  I am probably looking at a rebuild so I thought I would take a chance that someone is sitting on my original.  Thanks in advance for checking!

They must’ve been a doing a run on Sahara tii’s at the time of your example’s manufacture. My ‘74 Sahara tii is 2782576, built on Aug. 1, 1974, 7 tii’s before yours. Do you have a manufacture date for yours? Seems likely that it could’ve been built the same day or the next.

 

I found an identical example to mine (Sahara tii w/sunroof) a few years ago (albeit in pretty rough condition), 30 miles away which was either one VIN number before or after mine.

Interesting.  I have not done a ton of investigation on mine but I will eventually.  If I can't find a tii block, I will rebuild what I have.  I plan on driving it hard anyway!
