This car would not be considered a 1966 by "66" purists.

I think I know what you are getting at, but, it wouldn't be considered a 1967 either in Europe. So what should we call it?

The changeover from 1509999 to 1510000 was 17/18 November 1966 and in Europe the remaining 6 week production would also be noted as 1966.

It would be interesting to know if there were any major changes between cars 1509999 & 1510000.

Not a '66, but as old and close as they get in RHD. Even the coupe badge has survived the years - I only know of a couple of others. Let's hope the new owner sorts out the wheel choice 🙂

I don't know that I've ever seen a "coupe" badge, was that only in Europe? So cool!

It was a U.K. marketing scheme. Sadly, it led to some people actually believing that a 2-door sedan was… a coupe! 🙄

We’ve discussed it, and I believe documented it, in earlier threads.

You can straighten that belt trim with some patience. My trim was in worse shape.

King of Trim, for a price, can also make that trim look like new!

Many years ago--IIRC around 20 or so--there was a gentleman in LA who owned a 1600 whose VIN was 1500512--most assuredly a '66, and actually the 511th off the assembly line.  I remember it having a lot of little detail differences that even 67s didn't have (e.g.--missing the little triangular stamping on the trailing edge of the door frame at the bottom, revealed when the door was opened).  That's the only 150XXXX car I've seen and by far the earliest.  He also owned 2760009, the 8th US tii off the line.

Anyone know the whereabouts of those cars?
