Part identification please

Can someone tell me what this part is, and where it goes.

I found it in a parts box that I believe is for the engine, but I haven't been able to identify it by looking at pictures online.

any help is appreciated.

What year is your car?

Looks like a bracket that fits on the oil filter housing that holds the air pump diverter (gulp) valve on a "roundie".

It's a 1972

Well ... I was close.

It's the bracket for the EGR valve on the earlier cars.

Jesus, I don't think I've ever seen one of those on the 20+ early cars and engines I've worked on...

It went bye-bye on my '73 around 1979, the year after I bought the car...in the same box with the air pump and other related emissions stuff I took off my '69 in 1970...
