Should I buy or Should I run?

Same w/my tii.  I’ve barely touched the injection and I bought it in 1987.

One thing I can say with both of my cars is that once they've been set up correctly, they've been really reliable and sort of "set it and forget it".  That's been my experience

For me it was the Same with my Tii, just drive it regularly and it may get you 20 years down the road

I wouldn't bother.

It's already at 10k, and the visible rust should cap it at about that price.

The rust in the pictures that aren't there will be significant, too.

And there are 6 days left...whoever ultimately pays $30k for it is going to be in at least another

10- and quite likely 20- if they poke the rust monster.

For an honest person, putting something on Baste a Turkey has to be a miserable experience.

For a crook, it's gotta be endlessly entertaining.

I get the sense this car's not sold by a crook...

Well, it's already too rich for my blood,

and the pictures are graphic art, not actual photographs.

As in, they've been mucked with, at which point, they don't count.

I'm not a real photographer, but I have watched one work, and she can

fix all your blemishes in about the time it takes me to see them...

What's telling in all the close- up 'wrapped with' and

'packing in its well- filled- out dance belt' detail

is all of the pictures that AREN'T there- door bottom pinches,

inside hood pinch, trunk pinch, rocker seam, yadda yadda de yadda.

Did I miss the trunk shots?  There were sooo mmmannnnyyy retouched-on-black my mousey finger may have spasmed.

And the gloves????

Riiigiggggttttt....

That said, it might really be an OK car.  But there are a hundred art shots, and just  7 that show that

the front 'frame rail' channels are both crushed, the diff is leaking, and

somehow, someone bent the ends of the tabs that hold the back of the diff in place.

Now, I've bent the shit out of a couple of cars, and never managed to bend those things

like that, not even swapping diffs 4 or 6 times a season.

Those pictures show an average car underneath- not one I'd be ashamed of, but

one I was driving around, NOT wearing gloves...

But again, these are observations on presentation- omission is not always

hiding something.  But if not hiding, then why not show?  5 minutes of opening doors,

hood and trunk, and having a poke 'round would clear it all up.

mmm. that was kinda fun...

t

Critical of presentation, uncertain of example.

I don't see smoke from a fuse, no.

A good look at all the usual rust spots, compression check hot and cold,

and a general sense of the car ought to tell you what it is.

Seems like a lotta money already, tho, for the 'most utilitarian' of all tiis.
