Those look amazing! Did you coat them with slipplate?

I used POR 15 manifold paint. 

The 49-state manifold (center in my above pic) has not cured, so is darker than the Tii manifold (right).

That’s the possibility I was contemplating, Jim, when a wondered if the head had been removed for the rebuild… 😯

Only because they allowed it to happen, dont feel bad for them.

They either have too much $$ or not enough sense, probably both.

When you buy using the "oooh shiny!" approach it can easily go sideways.

Seller did pretty much lay it out as a core... 

"Bottom line: I am not making any claims other than that this in a genuine BMW engine taken from a tii produced late in the 1973 model year. As suggested by @M54Sam, bid accordingly."
