Recommended Posts

I ripped the sides of my liner trying to install it.

When you're doing new seals or cables, it's not really necessary to remove the upholstery panel from the car.  The shop manual says to unsnap it from the sunroof panel and slide it back in the slot where the sunroof goes when it's open.  If you do have to remove the upholstery frame, it's much easier to R & R with at least one set of aluminum trim pieces removed (as you've discovered, unfortunately!)  Don't think you can repair that torn headliner piece, and when you do replace it, be sure to source the same thin material the factory used.  Thicker headliner material willl bunch up on those edges and make reinstallation even more difficult.

I did a column on R & R-ing the sliding panel to replace the weatherstrip, and adjusting panel height.  PM me if you'd like a copy.

Yes, and best to lubricate the upholstered edges with a bit of candle wax or silicone grease to make that trim panel glide
