2002 transmission upgrade options

Hi all,

 

I'm wondering what the best options are for an automatic upgrade on a 1975 N/A 2002. The customer wants the engine worked to approx 140-150hp, but wants to retain automatic so his wife can drive it. The existing trans isn't the best and we want a modern alternative. Manual isn't an option here so please don't try convince me, its not my choice. We were thinking about using N42 kit (potentially the engine also) but weary of physical dimensions as we want to avoid modifying the trans tunnel if possible.

 

Any advice please send it my way, I tried searching but could only find limited info.
