1971 Chamonix '02 Project with tons of parts

Recommended Posts

Price: $12500
Location: Prescott Valley, AZ

Description:

Car:

1971 BMW 2002 in factory Chamonix (still wears factory original paint), S/N 2578447. Clean AZ title.

Rust/rot (mostly driver side) in the front lower nose, I do have a new patch panel from Jaymic. Also a small bit (quarter size) on passenger side rear lower rocker area.

Very clean/dry/straight chassis currently stored indoors on wooden chassis dolly (4 X 4's with casters). Suspension is not installed.

Has a single (roughly 3/4") hole in center of trunk lid that I assume was for some sort of antenna and should be patched/filled. Currently has a grommet installed.

Previously had a Kirk bolt-in roll bar (not available for sale) that has since been removed, chassis mounting holes (wheel wells and floor) need to be filled.

No back seat included (did not have one due to roll bar).

Recaro/320is seats (need attention but solid) and 320is steering wheel (good shape).

Used/replacement drivers door (due to very large dent), original door with trim, mirror, hardware, glass etc. is included.

Bilstein F/R dampers w/lowering springs (not sure on brand), Ireland F/R anti-roll bars. KMAC camber plates.

Upgraded (not sure which setup) front rotors/calipers, rear drum brakes (not sure if original/upgraded).

Radiator, TEP trunk battery brace, everything else that was removed from the car.

Parts:

Non-original (to the car) M10 2.0 engine (purchased from Mario @ VSR, said to have been refreshed before owner swapped to S14), TMU. Includes 2 Weber carb setups w/manifold(s).

Stock 2002 exhaust (looks new, will check manufacturer)

E36 168MM 3.9X LSD installed into E21 case (bought from Dave @ Aardvarc). new/rebuilt, never installed

Getrag 245 5 speed transmission for M10 (bought from Dave @ Aardvarc), good used, never installed

Getrag 245 M20 front case/bellhousing

Getrag 265 front case/bellhousing for M10/M30/S14

Shortened driveshaft for 5 speed swap, new/rebuilt never installed

215MM Sachs Sport Clutch for 5 speed swap, lightly used (~500 miles)

1 set 14" E30 Weaves (4 X 100)

1 set 14" E30 Bottlecaps (4 X 100)

1 set 13" X 6.5" Epsilon CSS (4 X 100)

NEW Full Jaymic 2002 Turbo body kit w/hardware, never installed & bought in 2022

Weld in 4 point cage, never installed (obviously), not sure on MFG

Misc. A/C bits including console unit and compressor (not sure where the lines are but I think I have them). Car did have dealer installed A/C.

M20B25 core motor, turns over by hand. I bought it as a core to rebuild though it's mostly complete.

M20 into 2002 swap headers, these are super nice (and $$$)! Ceramic coated, TIG welded with V-bands. Bought from Andrew (AceAndrew).

Story:

I've had the car and (most) parts to restore it for roughly 10 years, but my E36 race car demands the attention these days.

Bought the car as a rolling chassis with no motor, diff or trans.

I'll try to go through all of the other parts I have but I'm losing my warehouse storage soon so time is a bit of an issue.

Come get it all (and anything else I find) for $12,500 OBO. I believe pricing is fair considering what's here, but let me know if I'm way off base.

Parts will be loaded/boxed/wrapped on a pallet(s), I do have a forklift.

Working on more pictures this week, I have to do some digging as you can see! Please request anything that needs to be seen.

I will reply to inquiries in the order received.

Car is located in Prescott Valley, AZ.

Thanks!

-Dave.

Ok apologies for not replying sooner it’s been a busy month.

Here are more pictures of the remaining parts as well as some others I found Including a nice pair of rear axles, drilled with spacers and hardware, and a T51 brake booster.

Let’s make a deal!

My gosh,  you have almost enough for two builds! I need to resolve if I want a full blown project or not.  It seems intimidating at first but nothing I think I cannot conquer ..it's likely going to me where do I put it all till I start!  I love that your local..

I find that Tucson doesn't seem to have the BMW expertise that other cities do, I need to join a few local groups and get my knowledge base up.  So much easier in person learning than going through the internet.  I did my first 2002 about 30 years ago, was a frame off but mostly back to stock.  So going soup'd up is going to be learning curve,  but I'm liking the prospect.

Be in touch

Thanks Zach, let me know if you have questions or would like more info/photos. I’d love to have this stuff out of the warehouse next month so let’s figure something out thanks!

Just found the 2 Koito H4 headlight kits I bought, and adding pics of the headers. Everything goes with the car.

Also working on getting the M10 and other buried items out for more/better pictures 👍
