Strut Bearing Brands (Sealed?)

Go to solution Solved by Mikesmalaga72,

I have found some vendors' images of strut bearings confusing and difficult to interpret as to whether or not the bearings are sealed.

Does your experience indicate to you which of the following brands are likely/not likely to be sealed?  Thanks.

  1. BMW
  2. HT
  3. Ina
  4. Meyle
  5. Moog
  6. Boge
  7. other

I would worry a lot more about the quality of the rubber and not give a hoosifudge about 2RS...

Could be the rubber seal in a sealed bearing doesn't like the temperature sed for mount rubber curing process.

A radiator shop is a good place to take a leak.

I have no idea what I'm doing but I know I'm really good at it.

Whichever you buy pull out the seals and grease them with your favorite wheel bearing grease. Meyle, BMW, INA from what I've  seen no seals. With More parts made in China they don't know BMW has its own dust protection bits that go in that area.

There is none on the bearing, the dust protection is the plastic cap that snaps on the mount.

The underside has a metal cupped washer/spacer that covers the bearing.
