Bluetooth AFR sensors - PE vs PLX

Does anyone have any experience with the PLX wideband AFR kit vs the Performance Electronics Kit?

Accurately measure your car's wideband air/fuel ratio. Daisy-chain up to 16 sensor modules to connect with PLX Multi Gauges.

I know the Performance Electronics version has been around for a while, but the PLX is half the price.  Both use a Bosch sensor and connect to a smartphone via bluetooth.

PLX also happens to make powered hydrofoils and flashlights, so I'm worried about a jack of all trades/master of none situation here.

A guy I met at one of our monthly "cars & coffee" get together had the PE unit on his car.

Very cool!!! You can pull up all the engine data on your phone. No need for a dash gauge.

That's the way I'm going since my goal is to view the F/A only while tuning.

How does their software compare?

If I was looking at these, I'd try the interfaces to see if one was significantly better than the other.

Good call.  PLX app has one review (one star) and the app itself is 4 years old.  Some of the Amazon reviews for the PLX system are also not very stellar.

I'll likely go with the PE system, you get what you pay for I guess.

Thanks Toby

I spent a few minutes with the PE and Multigauge software.

PE: Very nice, intuitive, switch easily from A/F to Lambda, easy to read dashboard, settable hi/low and time on graph.

PLX: Calls the Air/Fuel ratio the Air Flow Ratio?? Hard to navigate settings and not intuitive. Dashboard main gauge is OK, but too many other indicators that are not needed. No demo mode so this is not a fair comparison.

Disclaimer: I am not a techie, so I like simple, easy-to-use devices /software.
