Recent project updates, it's never done....

After decades of running E30 bottlecaps on my former 02 and current E30,  I am now bottlecap less.  In the past year, I scored a set of E30 steelies complete with plastic hub caps. I traded my bottlecaps to a shop in turn for painting them silver and mounting the snow tires from the bottlecaps onto the steelies.   I wanted the steelies silver that if in the future, I can run the E30 steelies on my tii (without the plastic hubcaps). A can of Krylon metallic spray paint,  dull aluminum from Walmart worked great. 

 

I recently scored a set of new 7" Koito E-code H4 lights for $30 of a local Craigslist ad when an Alfa owner decided to go back to Hella lights. Also scored this 02 trunk mount battery bracket off a local FB Marketplace place ad. I have had the E30 battery cable in parts stash for years so this will be a winter project to relocate the battery to the trunk. While I was there, seller says , "you have a tii, you want these tii parts since I have no use for them?" Uhhh, sure, I'll take them. Gives me a Kugelfischer injection pump and tuna can. I now have three Kugelfischer injection pumps.

Those E30 steel wheels look very period when painted silver and equipped with the small Euro center caps that fit under the lug bolt flanges.  And way to score on that tii stuff!

 

BTW, did you find that Krylon Dull Aluminum spray paint at a Walmart?  I've looked all over the place for it, and finally had to order a case on-line because no one stocked it.

I bought some recently off Amazon.  Krylon K01403777 General Purpose Metallic Dull Aluminum Spray Paint $14.39 a can.
