Watkins Glen Grand Prix Festival

Participated in the WGGPF this past weekend with the 1600.  Had a blast!  My kids and their significant others came home and participated as well.  We all joined the Glenora Run, me in the 1600, my son in the 633csi,and my daughter in the 1968 Mustang 289.  We started at Glenora Wine Cellars, then did a tour of the surrounding area rural roads.  Did about 60 miles up and down, and around many hills.  Had lunch at Hidden Valley, part of watkins glen state park just off the old stone bridge (Cornett's Bridge).  Then did 4 laps of the original 6.6 mile road course on public roads.  Had agreat time and the 1600 ran pretty well!  A special thanks to Sean at Blunttech and Carl at LaJolla Independent BMW Service for providing the parts I needed at the last minute to finish up the headliner!  I also met Stuart Honick and his stunning and pristine 1969 2002, it was great to meet him and his family and talk 02's.  The pictures of the white 02 that follows are of his car and they certainly do not do it justice. Also met another gentleman at Glenora who had a 76 2002 but I can't remember his name because I suffer from CRS!  Here are some pictures...hope you enjoy!

I went to Watkins Glen for the Vintage Grand Prix in September of 2007. Back then, I'd owned my first 2002 for a relatively short time. I'd bought it during the summer of 2003. BMW was the featured marque. We managed to have a lot of 2002s on display in the Finger Lakes region. It's a beautiful setting and we all had a grand time.
