We just did a rebuild of a complet engine (new rockers, shafts, oil pump, etc all the right stuff), we used tii pistons as they are cheaper (+1). the total cost of the complet engine was around $3,400 (going from my memory).

That re-man engine number you found has superceded to the later 2002 part (from VIN 2583406)

Old Partnumber: 11001261406

New Partnumber: 11001261408

The old list price was $3380 with $500 core.

Today, it looks like list is $3405, but the core is $1k (not sure about that core.) You should get 20% discount from a friendly dealer.

Real.oem does show a disclaimer that they don't sell parts, or even show valid prices.

Find an honest dealer parts guy that will not inflate the real list price before he quotes your "discount".
