Opinions on Automotive "Lifts" for '02 service

I have a 4 post for storage and am very happy with it, cost me about $1700 plus shipping and installation. It came with three drip trays. Don't make a mistake though, it has to be bolted down. I also had to change the garage door installation to get 10 foot clearance, which is really the minimum you need.

I am serioulsy considering putting up another one.

How does service work for you with the 4-post lift? Easy to get at everything?

Frankly,

I'll get a 2 post when i can find the $$$

it's just easier. The ONLY exception would be if you're driving on and off of it a lot, and doing just oil changes.

It takes about 5 minutes to set and lift with a 2 post, and about 2 minutes to lift with 4.

But if you need to do anything wheel or suspension related, you can't do it on a 4 poster without some fancy (and 'spensive) jacking systems.

fwiw,

Toby

my car on weekends, if needed. It's a 4-poster, and I cant's begin to tell you how many times I've cracked my head on the channel-rails. I've worked under 2-posters a lot also, and they're the only way I'd go. Also, with low clearance on all 3 of our '02s, getting up on channel-rails is always a procedure that requires the use of 2x10s to get on. FWIW.
