Progress on the bmw1602.com car ...** UPDATED 09/16/24 *

At the start of Sat. Special BS memorial race....I started mid pack.... the flag dropped and when I went to upshift the throttle linkage weld broke and I had no drive!! I was told later.... "don’t you know your supposed to weld that??"???‍♂️ Live and learn. Apparently it’s a known weak point. Luckily nothing bad happened.... just a bit anti-climatic was all ready to see if my last round of carb fixes made a difference.... ow well!! I guess I find out on Sunday morning practice session... unless something else breaks....??‍♂️ Massive thanks to very friendly fellow Fellow racers that are smart enough to bring a welder to the track to get me fixed up! Swipe right to see the break and the bush fix....

My wheel weights were hitting the new calipers and this was the first time I put these wheels on....so I had to rush back to the pits and scramble to get them off quickly enough to make the start of the race. So....Unfortunately got grided last. My wife, daughter and mother were up in the T4 balcony cheering me on and my friend Adam was in T1 so I incorporated their Cell phone footage into this video. I was having engine/carburetor issues all weekend and the engine was stumbling in turn 8 and down the front straight, still I managed to catch Dwight Anderson in the #07 car and make a pass for P4 then gave chase and caught up to Scott Parsons who was struggling with worn tires so I was faster than him in turn 2 thru turn 5 but then my sick engine kept me back on turn 8 and down the straight. Still I managed to pass him then he passed me and I passed him back! Then he was able to power by on the front straight and hold onto the lead until the finish.....It was a super fun race, it was great fun racing with Andy and Scott and it was even more rewarding to have my family out there this weekend cheering me on!! Thanks to all the VARA staff and corner workers! Thanks to my wife for supporting this crazy adventure. Thanks to they guys that help me get to the checkered flag. Matt Rose - Ronin Autowerks Jeff Ireland - Ireland Engeneering Kevin McDonald - thanks for the fuel!! Also all the guys pitted up by turn 1 that helped me weld my throttle linkage on sat. night.....thanks for the beer also!!

The best part of this last race weekend by far was having my family come visit and cheer me on! My wife brought our daughter and my dad on Saturday and then on Sunday my mom came out. Both just happen to be visiting from out of state so it really was great luck that they were in town at the right time. ?? Hard to describe the feeling of having my daughter around seeing daddy racing! I hope this is the start of her love affair with cars and machines....she already likes playing with cars more than dolls.... I wonder why ??‍♂️? hopefully next time my brother can come out with his kids!

Yes I totally geeked out on my labeling.... I visited the BMW Museum many years ago and saw a factory 2002 and CSL race car there.... everything was labeled in German of course and with this old stick on imprint label maker. I had found one in a garage sale years ago and bought it thinking I would do this someday......do I feel like a total bimmer geek? Yup. Do I think it’s cool when I look at it and smile because I have a German racecar that I always dreamed of racing someday? Yup

Not sure why I was still running my 10 year old hand made no resistor rotor. Who knows maybe this was the cause of my high RPM misfire... new cap too because why not. At this point I think I’m going start replacing everything that is 10+ years old....

Out with my old sketchy single axle trailer..... one more vital piece of l “Cinemilled Racing” setup.... I wish I had the funds for a nice enclosed trailer but after lots of research I wanted to give a Big shoutout to @vimetaltrailers for making the most badass trailer I could of ever hoped for. I have been looking for a used one for while... almost bought a nice PJ awhile back but then started looking at the very nice trailer being made across the border, saw many offroad race teams using them and figured I’d should look into it more. Armando over at Vimetal was awesome on the phone turned my ideas into my dream trailer. I lost a lot of storage space with the truck camper and I wanted a few storage cabinets and between the tongue box, side cabinets and the storage box where the battery and winch sits I think I have enough space for everything I need now. The paint job is super clean, good solid welds nice gussets in key points on the frame and I did the side tube railing and the steel deck. All I can say is Armando and the team over at Vimetal really did a great job ???and I can’t recommend them enough. Drove down to Calexico to pick it up and drove few blocks away and got it plated and registered right away. Easy smooth process. If your looking for a trailer ..... especially if you have some custom things you would like... call or DM them thru Instagram, super fast response, great communication thru email and they really stand behind the product. I’m super stoked on my decision and my trailer. Excited to put it to use for my race car and for the pre-runner truck I am building

Getting the car loaded up for the first time on the new trailer... getting ready to head back for a very special outing at willow springs......where my race car meets my “day job” ..... time to immortalize my race car and film a special commercial and product launch for my company @cinemilled !!! Made possible by @alltimeracing Spring fling track day event. The organizer Tim Herren was gracious enough to allow us some time on the track to film with our new Cinemilled movie making “toys”.

No I’m not filming Hot Wheels cars... today I get the unique chance to film my race car using products I invented and made. Today is going be a good day..... camera’s, cars and a race track. That’s about as good as it gets! ?

My buddy Ryan making the last few tweaks before jumping in and heading out. Normally what I’d be doing. But today I’m directing the action from my racecar!! What you see there is. Ronin2 stabilizer mounted to a vibration and bump isolating suspeitos arm the I created and will soon be selling via cinemilled.com ... going be crazy following the truck, I don’t think I ever saw a F250 on a racetrack before..... going be quite a sight!

I think we set the diesel truck lap record ??? It was awesome to coordinate shots from behind the wheel of my racecar. Thanks a million to Ken Stranahan for the badass ?photo

Time for an alternator upgrade. 35amp “racing” alternator from @iemotorsports .... lost a few pounds and free’d up some space in the engine bay. My old alternator which has the larger “racing” pulley is up for sale if you interested
