So the bolts on my rear control arms were almost finger tight allowing the eccentric adjusters to most likely move around changing my camber and toe willy nilly... I’m going to say that’s why my car was not handling right during the last race.... that along with my funky bent front subframe/idler arm probably messing with my alignment ..... ?‍♂️ what a hot mess... the upside is I’m learning and we are finding and addressing the issues! .. #RacePrep continues ...

The ugly side.... getting ready to drop it all to the floor. Decided to pull the trigger and swap my apparently bent subframe for a old rusty one that is straight, in hopes of making everything square and aligned.... kinda late in the game to be doing this but... going forward with essentially bent steering seams dumb. .. #RacePrep continues ...

New @akgmotorsport engine mounts and trans mounts going in, should help the AKG shifter shift just a bit more accurately since it should limit engine movements even more over the IE poly’s I was running. These have been on the to do list for awhile. #RacePrep continues ...

Finally got a support bracket fab’d up to support the intake and reduce vibrations in the float bowl.... it’s not pretty but it will do the job. Much like the rest of the car ? #RacePrep continues ...

About to carefully lower the car onto the engine.... kinda amazing how this just drops out and goes back in as one big chunk ... #RacePrep continues ...

Engine is in.... thanks for putting in some stellar work Kevin! Going have to go dyno first thing in the morning and hopefully load it up and head to willow straight from there....and see if I can get some “installation” laps in... lots of new things to check out. You can’t make this shit up folks! I have never had this car on scales before... we threw it up last night on scales to try to corner balance and align the car a bit and low and behold....... it immediately reads 2002lbs. !!! ?? No joke. Hard to believe. I’m going take this as a good omen ? ...... don’t mind the corner weights they are a freaking total mess along with the alignment. Not sure I was even driving this thing!! Onwards and upwards!! Now off to the dyno to make sure everything is ok then rush to the track try to make the last test session to shake down the car!! #RacePrep continues ...

Quali results just now! Went out a did a string of laps in the 1:40’s good enough for P10 (P5 in my class) still getting used to that locked differential any by the end of the session I started to get a feel for how it reacts etc.... the tires are 5 races old now so not sure if they have a 1:39 in them but I just want to put in some consistent laps in my race. Tomorrow maybe on my near set of tires I can find the time to break into 1:30’s.... making some jetting changes that should help also. Things are looking up!! All the hard work paying off!!

Very close racing today, car ran absolutely perfect after a jetting change.... I’m slowly getting more comfortable with the locked differential. Best lap was 1.40.3 not bad on these aging tires. Looking forward to tomorrow race.

Got inspired by my fellow Brazilian BMW racer and master chef @greyzevieira to bring some picanha steak and my grill and cook up some Brazlian BBQ (Churrasco??) what a beautiful night to be cooking under the stars and enjoying a beer with friends. Telling stories and discussing the days events, making new friends! Honestly it’s part of the enjoyment I get from race weekends...
