Timing probably. When mines a bit on the flooded side it will fire too early and lock up the starter till I let off it. Then its good again. Could also have a Pertronix dizzy in there for a reverse rotation dizzy (I did that once...) wouldnt run worth a damn

Yes, this thread is six years old, but in keeping with the nature of an 02, a problem can often linger for a long, long time. For example, I've been waiting a couple years for the rust in my floorplan to fix itself--no luck yet.
