I'm glad I'm not the only one. I feel like the '02 has ruined me for newer cars. I drove a couple of E46es--fast, yes; handled well, yes. But involvement? I felt like I was piloting a video game. My brother-in-law's new 244-hp Accord with a 6-speed? Kinda fun, but 80 mph felt like 30. A driving appliance. I drive anything else and just wish it was an '02. OK, my '85 GTI was pretty good, but it's the closest I've come.

Of course, during my 10-to-11-month driving fasts in China I would be happy to drive almost anything. Well, except for some of the taxis I ride in, praying all the time for little things, like the door's staying closed and our making it between that overloaded three-wheeled truck and the city bus...
