Having a truck, you instead drive the 02 to Home Depot/Lowes just for the chuckle you get when all the other SUV owners look in disbelief as you load in a full flat cart of lumber, shut the passenger door, and drive off.

You might be an 02 nerd if you own a very fast car but yet still get the same sensation rowing through the gears in your 115 whp 70's econobox.

You have run out of gas in another car because you figured the needle would just magically bounce to a 1/4 tank after a nice corner.

You get to places on time in other cars and you get to the same place 10 minutes earlier in your 02. Not because the 02 is faster but because you left WAAAY earlier expecting to run into some kind of glitch.

Only to discover that you are no longer making the same money as you did before, and it;s a lot more work. So, to make life easier, you purchase ANOTHER business, to help supplement the first one. Now, you work 80 hours a week, and still have no money, or time to drive your 02. BUT, it all becomes worth it when a customer calls, and you spend more time chatting on the phone than working on his stuff!

You may also be an 02 nerd(or car nerd in general) if you spend more money on your car, than your rent every month!

if you have more cars than can fit in a 16,000 sf building

so you have some outside and at friends houses

and on the trailer for three weeks because there

IS NO MORE SPACE!!!!!!!

if you look around your space and see taillites for a car

this is painful because i could just keep pointing

to my lifes addiciton, and all the time it's doing push-ups

and getting stronger!

you hide or attempt to conceal the source of new parts "no mom i did not spend all my money on that part" of course not on just one part, there are at least 3 or 4 other parts stashed around.

I just read the entire thread over again, and this one is number one on my list. That's probably why my dad always wanted me to sell the car so bad.

I thought about this thread all day and have come up with some of my own.

1) You keep a camera in the glovebox so you never have to miss another perfect photo opportunity

2) You feel really broken hearted when someone walks past your drive-way without doing a double take when they see your car, but it makes your day when they do!

3) You can come up with a thousand reasons on the spot why a 2002 is better than any modern day car

4) You prefer that "nobody understands"

5) You believe your car kicks ass several times a day (this should apply to all of you!)

Fuel pump

Distrubetor

Starter

Fanbelt

Complete hose set (never know which one might blow)

and enough tools to change an engine on the side of the road.

--You have to show passengers the "special" way to pull the seatbelt out of the inertia reel in order to get the full amount of belt out.

If I'm here long enough, maybe I'll take you up on the offer. Right now, I don't have a lot of travel time with my teaching schedule--traveling during Chinese holidays is insane! Most of our longer breaks (winter and summer) are booked with conferences or family visits back in the States.
