I have one, but can't figure where to mount it.

I thought I might mount it somewhere on the console or under the dash and then have it snake out for the co-driver, but the flexible arm is a bit short.

Glove box? Can't use it unless the glovebox door is open.

I'd considered mounting it to the A-pillar, but that means drilling holes and that's a "no, thank-you."

Considered the B-Pillar, but it gets in the way of the stock seatbelts.

If I had a roll cage, I'd mount it there.

But I don't, so it sits in storage.

Best option is an E30 lighted rearview mirror, IMO.

Cheers!

Agreed, this is what I will be installing in mine this weekend.

Another real cool toy is the VW mini torch flashlight. You can pick one up at the dealer. The price is a bit steep, but it is the perfect accessory in any car. You plug them in your cig lighter and they take up zero space.

Armond,

how about a flashlight mounted to a baseball cap? wherever you are peering the light will follow.

or, alternatively, a small AA cell flashlight that you can install in your mouth temporarily whilst perusing a map.

however, i can see issues with this alternate suggestion if you are using this flashlight to locate an errant frenchfry for consumption.

DJs too use those Halogen lights on a goose neck. They come in various length and can be either bolted to the center console, or just taped with double face tape or velcro. Very often, tey come with a variostat in the base that allows to dim the light.

I thought about that Jerry but I prefer a semi-permanent mounting option. Plus, I'll end up loosing the cap and the flashlight just like the 3 100 dollar oakley glasses I've lost so far in 2 years.

In addition, I've seen co-pilots use them on rally races.
