Opinions on this colour

I thought intially it was Baikal, but I think now that Baikal is slightly lighter.

Car was resprayed with this "dark" metallic blue. May not be a BMW colour?

Pics taken on a rainy, dull day. It shows up brighter under flash (the beer shot - beer found under the seat & had a 2002 sell by date).

Edit: I forgot to say.....anyone know what colour this could be?

I like it les. I'd keep it that color. I dont know if you got my message - but if you ever decide to part with that sienna put me first in line. did you ever get a look under that blue one to see what was lurking? It really looks promising.

I like the colour, but don't know what it is. I need a couple of rattle cans.

Not sure about the Sienna's future. I've been stripping it down, but got sidetracked.

I like it too Les.Harv and I are going to have to come down there and make-off with a few of your cars! The shop looks great too

Hi John,

You'll never get the Touring away from me, and the others you'll have to push.

The shop is now full, but the spare bedroom is now a bedroom again (well, almost).

geez, the color you are showing looks very similar to what i have. i think there must have been a sale at Maaco's back in the 80's or 90's for that color.

i actually don't like my dark blue, probably because the metallic portion is more pronounced than i care to have. i like a more subtle metallic. also, my car was originally Fjord Blue, a beautiful color for these cars and it pisses me off that it was covered up.

I think you may be right. I had a 78 Volvo 242 that was that color. My friends called it "dune buggy blue" because of the heavy metalflake in it. Every time I went over 100 some of it would come off and show the tan under it.

So Les, is it rusty?

It's not really got a heavy metalflake, I think the Busch blue just brought out the worst in it (it would do in me as well). Hmmm, perhaps that's the colour - Busch blue!

I have yet to really crawl under it (kinda frightened to), but it appears relatively rust free considering it's spent 4 years outside in "rust free" Texas. I guess it's all "relative"; I come from the UK and this would be a definate "Ebay non-rust example".

I'll look at the floorboards one of these days and report back.

It looks nice to me also....I've always been partial to blue, especially the darker blues.

I'm going to keep the colour; would just like to know what exactly it is.

Shortly after buying my first '02 (in the dark ages) I picked up a Zender brochure advertising flares and all the bits. It featured a dark blue car not too unlike this. I've always hankered after that colour.

I think Jaymic used to race a twin headlighted one like it too.

Maybe i'll take the trunk lid down to some paint specialist to try & match it.
