How come my bushings wont go in!?

on the inboard control arm bushing ive got it about 1-2 MM away from where its supposed to be, using the simple press i made from all thread washers, nuts and some pipe. It worked to get them out, but now its all just bunching up at the end that still has to go in. Its so close but just not going the rest. I lubed it up with soap/water but im sure thats gone by now, and i cant really get it again. Any trick to this, like something to compress the bushings diameter, or maybe i have to take it out and lube it again and hope i can get it in before i lose the lube again

Any thoughts?

Wrap it a couple of times with bailing wire where it keeps bulging out, just unwrap a bit as needed to make space as they slide all the way it.
