will have 02 running gear including motor. Reason I have all the 02 parts and the 1600 is missing the motor also I don`t want a mechanical clutch. Here is the first pic many more to follow. I will probably build a blog.

This is going to be a mod- resto, which to me it means ,some period color, chrome updated wheels, 5speed, shocks some sort of ITB`s, megasquirt. The obligatory brace, battery relocation and some tunes.

Since I want to do an 80% or so of the work, reason most car restorers or painters suck. I know this because I spent very good money on 2 cars and I was not impressed at all with what I got. I have all the mechanical skill, the other skill I will learn enough about it.

For this reason I enrolled in a 100% welding class only, since 02 building means cutting and welding panels. I`ll start my third week next monday, first will be certified using MIG and then TIG. I really don`t need to be certified but is included in the course and the instructor asked me if I would like to do it and I said sure. So I`m learning and practicing like I was going to make my living welding.

The best part is that I get to spend about 20+ hours per week welding for a total of 6 weeks, The cost for the whole class 60.00 dolla, great deal.

My first project after I`m certified is to build a 02 rostissiere.

Well eough for today.

Let's see a picture of the tail, does it have the 1600 badge above the right taillight like most '67's. Also, is that a three piece dash, with the lower half being the '68 and later padded type instead of chrome?

My Father and I upgraded my(since '93) Granada '67 to all the Tii susp, brakes, driveline, rear subframe w/ short neck diff, 5spd...

Hi Tom

Thanks for all the information and offer to help. I see you have way to many 1600(cars in general). When I go and get the next one it will put me at 5 02s and 16 also I saw what I think is going to be a good parts cars is a roundie. Can`t get close enough to check the year, has been hit hard so I think I can get it cheap.

Will try to get some info on it next week.

Also the dash is three piece, about the 1600 emblem above the tail light is hard to tell, no emblem or lights. Also the someone tried to do hole filling using JB weld I think, I did find one small hole above the tailight there might be another under all the primer.

Where did you do your welding class at? I'm in South Orange County and it seemed like the community college classes I found started out with acetylene welding which you had to take before you could take the mig or tig classes. I bought a Miller mig welder and with a Haynes book and the video that came with the welder I can do ok. Certainly wouldn't mind getting some tips through taking a class.

Thanks

Pete
