brake booster, as found on tii variant.

early 3-piece dash with chrome trim as found on the 67 model year cars

'sport' steering wheel

no 'snorkel'

6-fuse cars only

btw, that is a great photo of a clean ti engine bay. i'll add a copy to my reference file. i did not know about the stiffer valve springs.

The - ti- is what I understand not released in the US.

It was the predecessor to the -tii-.

Here in Europe there are several -ti- cars.

It was produced until 1971, and did not meet

the emision standards of the US.

2002ti had 121ti head w/ same large valves as tii and e12 head.

Also 9.3:1 compression not 9.5:1. The E12 headed tii's used the 9.5:1 piano top pistons.

All 02's in stock form (including Turbo) used the same valve springs. Only the 1800Ti/SA used the stiffer factory valve springs. 02's only used these springs when equipped with the 300 and 324 degree camshafts.

I beleive the Ti also had a slightly wider front track...53" I think--same as the Tii if I'm not mistaken.

can you clarify what you mean regarding the front track? i'm not sure what you are referring to. what are the applicable parts?

larger sways front and rear

Euro trim:

BUT if you measure from brake disk to brake disk across the front of the car ALL '02s have the same track. When you see front and rear track as listed in car magazines that is with the wheels on on the ground! So, when you put wider tires/wheels on, you are increasing the track! DOH!

The italian turn signals were only in ... Italy and not for the rest of Europe.

The standards 02's had 4.5J rims and the ti/tii had the 5J rims and both had standard 165SR13 tires.

The offset (ET) for the 5J's was so much less that they came out and the track grew wider.

I think that makes sense. I was referrring to the figures listed in the book "The BMW 2002"...in the back there are some figures that differ slightly. '68-'71 listed as 52.4". '71-'75 as 53". US saloons '74-76 at 52.8"

Ti is listed as 53" and the Turbo is listed as 53.6". It does not specify the points of measurement, only says front track. All rear track measurements appear to be identical to the fronts.
