INKA STEVE (and others) I grounded the "choke" wir

nothing happened. Warning light still burning bright. And, yes, I checked the handbrake.

Any ideas? AT this point I'm tempted to just remove the bulb and, as Tony would say, fugettaboutit.

Other than CD's suggestion, It was my thinking that grounding the wire would cause the light to light. I am assuming that you have already checked the Brake Fluid level, along with all the wiring and floats associated with it. The light is also the low brake fluid light. Mine comes on even if the level is just a little below full.

Mine doesn't have the brake fluid level sensor -- choke and e-brake.

I'll try C.D.'s suggestion, as I need an alt rebuild anyway....

On some later cars the 'master warning' light would come on if the seat belts were not clicked together IIRC. Beaner7102
