02 w/ 4 spd trany issue

the seller says, pops out when you put on 1st gear(but not all the time, according to the seller). needs to hold it to keep it on 1st gear. what is the cause of it & how much it'll cost to fix? is this easy to fix? asking for $1500. how much dollars i can knock down from the asking price?

$1500 for - 5-speed conversion

$1500 for 4 tires, 4 shocks, suspension bushings, tie

rods, brake parts

$400 - $900 for two front seats

$500 for misc electrical parts that are shot

$500 for motor parts that are shot - mounts, plugs, wires, cap,

rotor, belt, water pump, fuel pump,hoses starter....

$500 for insurance, registration, tax, gas, tow home from sellers house

$100 for gas, oil, brake fluid, coolent

$190 for recore radiator

$19 for USED WIPER MOTOR

$300 FOR REBUILD DRIVE SHAFT

$49 FOR FRONT GUIBO

floppy? Not just at the knob end, but if you grab the shift lever down towards the shift boot and try to move it around, does the whole lever and base move about? If so, the problem may just be a loose shift support bracket (the thing that holds the shift lever and bolts to the tranny), either from the bolts backing partway out or the metalastic mounts having turned into black goo. That's a lot easier to fix than a tranny replacement, and if it's reallyl loose can cause popping out of gear.

I don't agree with C.D. all the time, but he knows what he's talking about. Give the man a little repect. Hell, you don't even have to respect him for his vast knowledge of 2002's. Just give him the respect that a human being deserves.
