Lola is having a time dealing with a sloppy parking brake handle. Are there any solutions out there for it; a new parking pin, washer/shims??

sometimes the metal tabs that hold the handle break off of the tunnel and have to be welded back on. Check and see if both sides are still fastened to the tunnel.

IIRC, Paul Cain assembled a slop-eliminating kit. Also Armond organised a group buy for updated handles. Search "ebrake handle" for the latter.

Hand brake kit from Paul Cain [pjcain@earthlink.net] removed the slop from

the brake handle in my car. The point of attachment of the metal sides that

the pin sets in had broken at the weld. Rewelding (brazing) and the washers

/bearings from the kit made it much better. Specify you car model if you

order because the 320i takes a smaller bolt. When you weld careful of the

brake light wire, the e-brake cable rubber collers in the tunnel, and the

carpet....it gets hotter than heck when you put the torch on that tunnel! There

is a way to do it without damaging everthing.

I have an e-brake handle from Armond. It's a nice piece. No slop, shorter and the actuation is smooth. Installation was done in 30 minutes.

Usually due to vandalism. The welds break at the bottom of the bracket

and the hole becomes oval. ReWeld at the bottom of the support and

then find washer that fits over the pin. Drill, bolt or weld that into an

aligned position. then get a longer pin and clips. Shims inside the

handle would make it even better.
