what parts should i salvage

i have a 76 2002 that is going to donate as many parts as it can to a 69.

what parts should i go fo before i junk it.

Depending on how rusty or body damage the car has, part out the following:

-windows

-interior (door panels, dash, instruments, etc..)

-doors

-fenders,

-hood

-trunk lid

-fenders

-lights, grille

-engine, radiator, pedal box, brake booster. etc..

-gearbox

-wiring harness

Now is the time to take a sawzall to the car if not rusty

-nose panel

-rear panel

-floor panels

-roof clip (if the car has a factory sunroof)

Others will chime in for other parts to strip. Remeber if you have a 35 year old car, you need a parts car, store the parts you need in your attic, basement, garage, etc... and sell the rest.

if you have the room to store em, i'd keep the front and rear subassemblies. it's so nice to be able to rehab a spare set while you still keep your car driveable. you can take your time cleaning and repainting the strut assemblies; rebush everything and put it all back together in anticipation of replacing it all someday, as one complete, clean unit.

btw, i have yet to see a front subframe without a cracked engine mount. prep/reinforce your spare to be prepared.

i'd keep the emergency brake handle and cut out the butter-dish that holds it. they are on the flimsy side and a spare lying around is insurance.

i cannot keep anything big. so doors and fenders and subframes and stuff like that are out.
