Undercarriage cleaning

I have my vehicle gutted and resting on jack stands. What is the most effective way of cleaning the undercarriage?

put on a pair of coveralls, eye goggles and chemical resistant gloves.

get a WIDE pan (i use a plastic drawer liner i have on hand), a big stiff brush and some mineral spirits. have a bunch of rags on hand.

it's messy, but it works for me. nice to have a creeper too.

the 1st thing i'd do is pressure wash the hell out of it to knock off the big stuff...you'll be surprised how much gunk a cheap washer will remove...then, i'd spray it with your favorite heavy duty cleaner or oven cleaner let it sit awhile then pressure it again...it'll cut down tremendously the amount of hand work necessary

all good suggestions. i used that castrol purple stuff. its safe for the environment and actually works like its not. this job and painting the underside are 2 stages im glad im past.

put on pigpen clothes and with a scraper and Simple Green, went at it.

Then I put on Wurth undercoating.
