CA Blue Plate Registration Question....

Joseph, Somtimes you can talk the AAA into checking your VIN to see if it is in the system and they will tell you the plate number. That is how I found my e9's original plate number but I didn't have the plates which were 551LLN. They won't give out a copy though! Repro plates are $75 each and look totally original except they are aluminum. In July `09 take your `69 plates to the DMV and register them on your `67, shouldn't be a problem, as long as you have both.

So they basically become Vanity plates.

I had the vanity plate on my '68 Camaro done in B&Y. It turned out pretty nice.

Cost a fair amount being that I had a pinstriper do the lettering and had the plate powdercoated.

Also powder coating you license plate? dude you don't mess around. Question though: are the cops OK with that or getting the plates done at the website above?

FWIW, these guys can make you a blue or black plate and have them just imprint you numbers. You can use your next registration tags on them.
