Day Passes for the Angeles Crest Run 6/29

My apologies for not looking into this further - apparently when you go to buy a day parking pass in the Angeles National Forest online, they wack you with a $4.95 shipping charge on top of the $5 fee, which feels excessive to me. If you go to this page:

http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/sanbernardino/ap/vendors.php

You'll find locations close to you where you can pick them up in person, and save the $4.95 for a gallon of gas. If you are planning on joing us for the drive/hike/BBQ PLEASE go on the socalvintagebmw.com website and go to the registration pages and sign up as soon as possible. We're less than two weeks away and we have to know how much food to order! Remember, if you register for the meet before the drive, you get the BBQ for FREE!! Thanks again.

OK all you SoCal O2ers.....

The Angeles Crest Enduro Hike/Drive BBQ is NEXT SUNDAY! Luckily the temparatures will be much lower next week. We're looking to have a bunch of cars out there dring the mountain roads, a fun hike to the waterfall and then over to John Barlow's for the BBQ afterward. If you haven't signed up yet, please go to socalvintagebmw.com and register. If you register for the October meet, the Drive and BBQ is free! If you plan on hiking you need a Forest Service day pass to park, so go to:

http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/sanbernardino/ap/vendors.php

You'll find locations close to you where you can pick them up in person. We're less than a week away and we have to know how much food to order! Thanks again.

This may be a dumb question, but where are we meeting on Sunday?

Not really a dumb question...Jeff said he will give the details of the trip to everyone who registers http://www.motorsportreg.com/index.cfm/event/event.advert/uidEvent/6353A637-E221-422D-2AB98A0496C98375 I think his original plan involved meeting before 8 am in Sunland. It may have changed some, so register and find out. I am still waiting for my email or I would know more. I hope you are joining us.

Matt/Steve,

Yes, we'll meet in Sunland and take off 8AM ish. I'm holding off for a day or two to see how many cars we'll have. we might start at the Von's a couple of blocks from John's, let me ask him if he rather we do that than have a dozen or more vintage BMW's revving up outside his and all his neighbors' homes on Sunday morning at 8. Come to think of it, he'd love that, but let me ask him anyway. If anyone shows up without a parking pass, there is a 7/11 on Foothill that sells them, but I wouldn't wait to the last minute..Might be easier to start at the lot.....I'll email through the reg site.....Ron P is bringing his amazing beautiful Fjord 3.5 coupe, so now we have cred with the E9 guys.....lol

ok then this might be a dumb question: I registered for the meet in October. Do I still have to register for this one as well? sorry for all the questions!

-Matt

I know he would like you to to also register for the drive. Use this link http://www.motorsportreg.com/index.cfm/event/event.advert/uidEvent/6353A637-E221-422D-2AB98A0496C98375 Just click on "continue" and you will be able to pick the "already registered for October" option with no charge for the BBQ. Hope that helps in case Jeff doesn't get back to you soon. See you Sunday

Thanks for the link Steve, I did not know you had to also register for the drive!

I was wondering about you, glad you are going. You don't have far to drive.

OK! Last day to register for tomorrow's Angeles Crest Enduro Drive/Hike/BBQ, and we've got 15 cars lined up so far that have registered, and John has told me that another 10 or so have emailed saying they're coming, although they will be called out for not going through the website! Sorry for all the registration hassles, but that's event management sometimes. The BBQ will have great menu, but those details are for the registrants only! I've just looked at my US Forest Parking pass that I bought over at the Big 5 and it says that it's a $100 ticket if you park without one. So, if you're coming, make sure you pick one up, and they are probably available at your nearby sporting goods store. Go to socalvintagebmw.com and sign up! Yay!
