Who has a Cruiser Bike?

OK with the gas crunch I've decided to pedal more so over the weekend I purchased this Diamond Back "Della Cruz" Beach Cruiser.

Wow talk about moving steel, single speed and alot to move.

Approx $240.00 at Mike's bike shop. Bad Ass Black and a blast to ride.

Cheers,

Jim

Do a search on the web you can add a motor to it for pretty cheap, has a clutch. Then you need apehangers and a wider rear tire, build a chopper out of it. Or just ride it and save gas.

i just uncorked the exhaust on my 50cc 2-stroke street bike. loud pipes save lives!

I'm thinkin about puttin some apehangers on it, but i just gotta figure out how to find ones that will fit it right and feel somewhat comfortable.

i still have a couple old leftover bikes from the 30's and 40's that i didn't sell off last year. alameda is a GREAT bike riding town for single speeds, however, here in Marin it's a fair bit hillier and the days of riding down Railroad Grade on Mt. Tam are long over due to population growth and bad publicity.

i was into old bikes long before i owned a car. somewhere i've got a 1920's Elgin with metal clad 28inch wood rims and nickel plated components. i even had the opportunity to ride the most holiest of holies, the Elgin Bluebird, once. i was truely honored.

would love to find an original Whizzer but originals are too pricey these days.

nice looking bike!

i'm trying to get rid of a dumb freestyle/bmx bike i bought when i shouldn't have, and get a cruiser bike instead

so much more comfortable, especially for the rides along the beach boardwalk, and with a seat that won't murder my a-hole

ryanOC,

what kind of dumb/freestyle bike? I'm into those owning several 70's and 80's BMX bikes.... maybe you can show me what you got as I may be interested.

I have cruisers but they are not beach style cruisers. BMX only.

Nirves are 'ok' for a modern cruiser.

i got it cause i had always wanted one when i was younger, but oops..... i grew too much and it's kinda pointless for me now

Although my commute is way to long to ride... These are my twins... had them since I was less than 10... complete with top bar mounted shifters. :)

Why don't you dump the freestyle for a 24" BMX cruiser?? Way cooler than one of those old man cruisers. :b...

Had a gorgeous vintage cruiser too, until I lent it to a friend recently who promptly got it stolen. The replacement (when I finish) will be a vintage lugged Motobecane frame with Vitus tubing, 5-speed internal hub, and drum brakes.

Happy pedalin'!
