Im in Berkley. What should I see?!?!

I'm staying at the Double Tree Inn at Berkley Harbor. I have a day and a half to kill before I fly home to Cincinnati and would like to see a shop or two that I usually only get to hear or read about. I don't want to be a tourist, but I would gladly play the part for a couple of great 2002 shops or the like! Any suggestions?!?

thanks in advance!!

I was there last night!

I'm actually in town for "Masters" training at Sumiko audio. They took us up last night because they are huuuuge fans and regulars of both stores. I have heard legend of the two for years and its great to have finally gotten to visit. Thanks!

not 2002 but it's sightseeing and it's free but the view from the Lawrence Berkeley Labs above the Cal Stadium of the bay is pretty awesome especially in about 2 hours from now with the sunset

You could drive down to Hayward and visit Double '02 Salvage for the rare thrill (unknown back East, anyway) of buying 2002 stuff over the counter. There's also Bay Motor Wrecking right in Berkeley (assuming he's still there - I left the area a couple years ago). If you like record stores, Mod Lang is must-see, but they've moved up to El Cerito. Great bicycle shops and lots of Indian food in Berkeley, but that's my own personal bias...

don't know if you're into fishing, but you can take a boat out the Emeryville Harbor, right next to you, and go bay fishing for striped bass or halibut

Have fun out there, Scott! Mary & I are planning a trip to Carmel in Sept. to visit her aunt & uncle. We expect to check out Monterey, Pebble Beach, vineyards, & all kinds of stuff. I want to drive the coastal highway with the top down also.

if you're down in Pleasanton, then Harlen Ness Motorcycles is right next door in Dublin

2) BEST sightseeing shot for both tourists and natives: Marin Headlands on the bluff overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge with San Francisco in the background

If you're still in Berkeley, Moe and I are leaving for a BMW meet just across the Bay Bridge. We'll be leaving Pleasanton at 8:30 tonight.

We'll be taking both '02's so there will be a couple extra seats.

Must drive....

For a keep your eyes on the road and off the view.....

Grizzly Peak Blvd from Centennial to Skyline and then turn right on Skyline, follow as it becomes Old Tunnel and take this back to Berkeley... Just at sunset is best and watch out for very high speed motorcycles that like to congregate at "The Wall"...
