Attended our Dayton area BMW CCA meeting last night--15-16 folks there, and 4 2002s...more than any other model BMW in attendence.

We had a '69 (mine, bought new), a 72 tii (the flared Golf car that recently arrived from CA), a nice original 74 and a nice 76 still owned by its original purchaser. Lotsa bench racing in the parking lot after the meeting.

cheers

There are five regulars in the Albany (Patroon), NY Chapter. A stunning Varona '75 with early '70's bumpers that regularly wins concours (should be in the BavAuto catalogue soon), a super clean, stock'73 Sahara tii, another '73 chamonix from AZ that is very solid and stock, and two clean '72 Malagas, one with a four barrel side draft. The '02 crew is alive and well in Upstate NY. (Bill Williams is here so often we are about to adopt him.)

I love upstate NY. The stockade section of Schenectady is a hoot, Jumpin Jacks a blast from the past and Saratoga, still a time warp kinda place. If it wasn't so dang hot? The last two times we were there, over 90 degrees. Does it ever snow or is that a myth like it always rains in Seattle. Been there twice and did not see rain.

Mike - that is nice, the National Capital Chapter Board members do not know my car is a BMW! An Opel maybe.....

I should'a, could'a, would'a been there, but for the pesky BSA. I was camping and canoeing w/them up in N. Michigan. Started out at Grayling and canoed eastward for 75 mi. on the Au Sable River. Cool Stuff!!
