In truth, those holes would probably better serve radiator cooling.

Naww, the 2002 has too much grille already- you really don't get any 'ram air'

effect out of more holes in the front. Just drag...

I agree with the welder- but if you're using the front bumper,

you could put cute little chrome grilles on 'em, and the bumper

would break up the visual aspect a bit-

Or put fog lights in 'em, trim out the center section, and have some unique

accessories...

weld patch panels in to eliminate the holes and just repaint the center panel.

If you want to avoid having to blend the upper section of the nose panel where it meets the fenders, do the paint blend on the vertical ribs along the sides of the center grill - the visible area there is tiny. Assuming that there was some leftover paint that came with the car, there really shouldn't be any color matching issues since it's all new paint.
