I am 45 these days.

First car was a '78 Toyota Celica GT Liftback.

Second car was '72 tii...bought it in 1987 as a poor college student. Still have it. Overall, I like it better than the Celica. ;-)

Other cars my wife and I have owned (in order):

'80 VW Rabbit Convertible (cute car - wife's)

'88 Subaru DL (we were excited it had A/C!)

'94 Infiniti G20 (my wife's favorite car ever)

'98 Subaru Forester (practical "we're having a baby" car)

'04 Nissan Xterra 4x4 (had to get that out of my system)

'06 MINI Cooper S (wife's car - now for sale - makes me sad, it's so fun)

'10 VW Jetta Sportwagen TDI (my current commuter - 40 mpg!)

'12 VW Jetta GLI (wife's current car - 6 speed, Autobahn pack - need space for growing son and gang of friends)

Scott

02ing since '87

'72 tii Euro  //  '21 330i x //  '14 BMW X5  //  '12 VW Jetta GLI

I am 31, and it floors me to see 20 year old's on this forum that have far more money and garage space than I have so it seams, but this is what I own and bought myself: (I am just finishing school now, so I am behind... at 20 I was just 2 years into building my educational debt)

2003 VW Golf (bought in 2007). I was T-boned by a lady who was not looking, so insurance covered a...

2004 VW Golf GLS

2004 VW Gold TDI (my wife's car, she bought it in 2004 before we were married, but I guess it is 50% mine now)

1973 2002 Tii (technically my dads till he dies, but I garage it)

I plan to buy a Porsche 911 (997 c2s), and then upgrade the VW's to modern GTI's as daily drivers over the next few years. One vintage hobby car, one modern sports car, and two sporty yet practical daily drivers is all I need...

I am just finishing school now, and the hard work is finally starting to pay off. I would tell the kids of today to stay in school... but I would rather they tell me the secret to their success, as the people here in their 20's with multiple BMW's obviously know something I do not...

haha, well as for the secret for being succesfull being 21....

have a long-term girlfriend with good money skills, work at least 2 jobs, and save all your money durring high school and buy a house early so you dont have to throw rent away. definately a home buyers market.

i used to landscape and work as a busser, then during college (automotive 2 year) i worked full time at Americas tire co and fixed bicycles for extra money.

hard work is all that gets you there early, thats how i can afford to park my 02 in the garage that i own.

oh, and also alot of top ramen ;)
