Well, it runs like crap... but it runs!

Monday's first drive

Monday has LEFT the garage! haha.

Like I said, got to drive it around Saturday night, and then we got the rest of it buttoned up Sunday and got the seat bracket for the passenger side in yesterday, but I was missing the hardware to actually put the seat in. Still have a LOT of body holes to fill, and it needs a new exhaust, and I think the carb isn't behaving, but... It can move under it's own power now! haha. Ran out of light to do a proper photoshoot, but we took some in the driveway. It's nice to have the garage back, and all the tools put away so I can find them... Still a lot left to do!

Wow, it's been a while since I updated. Here is the latest:

'twas a lovely day:

4740515105_5b9b3e750d_z.jpg

Stopped off for some pictures to show off a little work. Had some friends over, got both interior door handles on and working, both windows working and greased, adjusted the timing a little, and got rid of a bunch of slop in the shifter... Passenger seat belt and seat installed, and put some miles on it!

Oh, and painted over the skull (if you've seen my previous pictures) to try and stop scaring the neighbors. It still shows up in certain light (and most of the pictures) but it's a lot more subtle in person! Ha. And the turn signals (Thanks again Rob!!) really make the front end of the car look finished.

and a little driveby video. Not sure why flickr keeps clipping it, but you get the idea... http://www.flickr.com/photos/hammer03/4741126114/in/set-72157624373215520/

Enjoy! New shift knob on order soon to bring it back up a little higher. The Jaffsknob, if anyone is familiar...

and yesterday: not the best pictures or location, but I figured I'd get some lighter pictures. Enjoy:

Just kidding. Not happy with the editing, and the car is dirty, but at least you can see more details.

As a small update (in size, but not in changes), I've now moved to Colorado Springs, co, and on the way home from the first and only Bimmers and Burgers meet I made it to, the 2002 puked its hydraulic fluid two blocks from home. Limped it back to where we were staying while I was job hunting, and parked it. Found a job, moved into a house (with a pretty nice garage!) and had it towed to the house, but being so far from work, and fearing this strange "weather" thing the locals keep telling me about, and this other thing called "snow" I think.... I bought a Jeep. It was a fiasco. So I bought another one! Definition of insanity aside, I'm hoping to get some time to fix the first Jeep, and flip it, and then move on to the 2002 and get it back up and running. In the mean time it is tucked in the garage safe and sound.

Some pictures because, lets face it, people like pictures!

If anyone in CO wants a project YJ, I'm open to offers as-is on the red one... haha

Well, I think I posted the garage build before, but the new house is seriously lacking in work surfaces and organization. More google sketchup ideas!

(sorry for the huge pics, but I wanted to be able to show detail)

What I'm starting with:

and what I'm thinking of doing:

Now, I'll still have the wall by the m3, and the spot in between the two overhead doors. Debating a workbench with the vice or maybe saving that for when I find a nice big drill press or something... On the up side, I should have enough room in between 2002 and the wife's Jeep so that when I get ready, I can put the 2002 on dollies and move it over and still have space to put the jeep in the garage (once I sell the red one and have a clear driveway)

thoughts/questions/comments welcome and appreciated.

Thanks to Blunttech for the brake lines! Need to find a helping set of hands or a bleeder. Then hopefully it will be back in action. Oh, and the hood is back...

Getting the '02 itch again, getting tired of breaking things on the M3 out at the autocrosses. In the mean time, we bought a house, had it built, worked on the garage, and now we're expecting our first in January... So funds will be even more limited, but hopefully time will be more abundant this winter.

It's February, so congratulations on your little one!?

Just had a question on your wheels. Did you have to hammer, kick, cut, or wish your firewall back to avoid rubbing? I'm going with 15x8 with the same tires, And I'm expecting this sort of firewall business to happen. IE stage 2, fixed camber plates, IE flares...
