Engine comes back from machine shop this week and reassembly will begin. I'm trying to decide on finishing touches prior to paint and am interested in opinions on the following configuration:

Car is gonna be inka with white stripe. Engine compartment is already black. I was going to paint the block gloss black with valve cover powdercoat black and remaining parts unpainted aluminum. At auto parts store yesterday, I found this orange engine paint and thought maybe that would be a nice offset to the black engine compartment. So, how about orange block with black powder valve cover and remaining parts naked aluminum? This engine mount is an example of the orange. Tacky, or a stroke of tasteful genius?

Too many colors given that the car is going to be striped and the engine bay is a different color to begin with. Keep it clean and simple IMO...black block and maybe some of the naked aluminum you were talking about.

bump it up a notch....

.....and go with flourescent orange against the black background.

you know, the kinda color used to demark areas on construction sites.

ask, hey, is that half a Chevy V8?

Stick with black...nice and understated, easy to keep clean.

agree with Mike, the orange will look like a Chevy engine rebuild ...
