What is the difference between a 2000 and a 2002 Touring? Are the badges placed in the same location? Pictures? And the most inportant question, does anybody have and extra 2000 badge? Next week is the "Pullover Rally" www.thepedalpushers.com in the East Bay and I'm trying to make Marion's Touring look nice. Please help my find a badge.

I need some Stinking Badges

Here is where my 1802 badge is located. Not sure if the 2000s are in the same place. The only difference between a 2000 and 2002 touring is the badge. Didn't want to originally call it a 2003 (3 door hatchback) so settled on 2000 touring. Later changed the badge numbers to 2002. By the way, did you know that when the tii was first released, it was in the Touring?? And our round taillights are bigger than the standard "roundies", and carried throughout the model run up into 1974.

The main difference between a 2000 Touring and a 2002 Touring is the badge. The Tourings were originally badged as 2000's, but that was confusing, so somewhere in production (I'm sure a real Touring owner knows when) they changed the badge to 2002.

As for the badge itself, wouldn't the badge from a NK 2000 sedan work? If anyone has one squirreled away, it would be Carl Nelson at La Jolla Independent. You might also try Rob Torres...

Good luck

It was '69 and in the 2000Tii Neue Klasse Sedan. around 1920 produced.

The Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (German Touring Car Championship, or DTM) Winning BMWs in '69 were turbo'd Tii motors.... The extremely rare 2002TiK.... Driven by Dieter Quester and Hubert Hanne....

Sorry, I stand corrected..I should have been more specific. I was referring to the Tii in the standard 2002s. They were trying to present the Touring as a sporty car, not a utility vehicle, so they released the Tii engine in the Tourings before the Saloons.

In theory, 2000 Tourings were re-badged 2002 in Aug '73 with the "model '73" Touring (late nose panel/grilles).

In practice, i'm not sure, as I have pics of "late" Tourings with 2000 badges, and "early" Tourings with 2002 badges.

ps: if you would send me your Touring VIN, int/ext colour, I will add you to the Touring Register.

Yes! Touring 2000tiis were manufactured from Jan '71. Also offered was the "sport paket" for the Touring, which included the famous alloy wheels. Maybe these early alloy wheels should be known as the Touring alloys.

badge off of my touring what I would do. The thought I have is to carefully cut, with and exacto knife or something, the 2 from the end of a 2002 badge and glue another 0 to it from another 2002 badge.

It may work.
