1976 2002 - rebuilt motor, many new parts

Chamonix with Navy interior and sunroof. California emmisions car, shipped to Ohio in 2005 from Sacramento. Selling for many reasons, mainly due to too many projects past and present.

Being a California car, it's very solid with the only rust being cosmetic. Floors, rockers, shock towers are all very solid. There is some rust perforation in the battery tray. Also, there is some rust perforation on the roof, from presumed trapped water behind the sunroof. The car has been stored only indoors since in Ohio. There is a fair amount of rust around the trim, especially on the trunk lid. The drivers door mirror mounding area will require some work before mounting (due to mounting of non-OEM mirror(s) by POs). The body contains many dings that will need repaired by the body man. The largest is not a ding, but a wrinkle in the L quarter panel due to a hit and run here in Ohio. Inspected by local BMW expert (FAQ member I think, will have to check with PO), and pulled out by the favorite local frame shop. Aligns perfectly, and has a clean title. Some dents on the rear panel as well from the same incident. The gigantic rear bumper seems to be intact with little or no damage.

The motor was assembled, started and fast idled to properly break-in the cam.

Since, the Webers have been tuned to obtain reasonable idle, and driven about 10 miles on the road. Leak-down numbers are good.

Asking price $6000. Can deliver locally in an enclosed trailer if desired for a fee, though perfectly drivable.

Items that need to be addressed before daily driving-

* Complete DCOE tuning (will include OE manifold and 32/36 Weber)

* Install proper throttle cable (using OE rod now, not adequate, doesn't open butterflies 100%)

* Install air cleaner(s)

* Install console (mine isn't assembled), shift boot, etc.

* Tie-down the batter, I don't have the hardware

* Permanently install XR3000 module, it's hanging by zip ties now, I couldn't bring myself to drill holes.

Attached are a few pics. Email at cyclist72 at yahoo dot com for more or more details or set-up a viewing appointment.

Also included are a spare block, crankshaft, rods, and a brand new fiberglass front air dam (brand unknown). Also a couple boxes of OEM pistons and the stock camshaft.

Make offer, I'd like to see this one go soon. Please come and see how solid the car is. If more pics are needed of the usual rusty places let me know.

Thanks,

Tim

For sale again after considering continuing with the car, but my racing hobby has changed my mind for me (again).

Changes since last ad:

- Weber 32/36 on the car now, along with a mechanical fuel pump. 40mm DCOEs are included.

- The car has a Corbeau driver seat, the stock seat is included by in need of reupholster

- Needs a new radiator (the new chinese one came in contact with the fan before finalizing the mounting).

No reasonable offer refused, will consider parting out the car including the motor and or parts.

Also includes the stock 13" wheels. Has continued to be garaged until the last couple of months.
