Stock paint Q, how many?

Is there a source to find out how many of a certain color 2002 were produced?

Trying to find out how rare our 70 Riviera is.

(Built in 70, titled as 71)

Thanks

Thanks for the chart.

My wife was trying to decide what color she want's it. If it was rare, she would go with riviera but she'll probably go with Anthrazit or similar.

Personally, I don't think she'll make up her mind until AFTER I paint it. Quite a conundrum.

yea baby ! your wife has good taste !

055 Anthrazitgrau Met is very nice, and rare

for only the last year of production

but 'changing' body color is a huge job!

You need you hit all the 'hidden' areas

so it doesn't loOK like a paint job

1971 according to BMW, but I've seen a US 72 tii painted Nevada and I know it was original...

Mike McCartney's restoration book has a color list with approximate rarity for each color. Early US '02s were "officially" available in only a few colors--versus nearly a dozen for 1600s (go figure)--but we have folks reporting a number of non-cataloged colors on early US spec 2002s, so apparently they were available--if you knew what to ask. I didn't, so my '69 came in Nevada, which I've grown to like...it's particularly nice when all shiny and polished.

CD,

She likes your car but now she said she might like a two-tone. !!!?

The second pic looks like it's been lowered.

I know, a color change is a lot more work but this ain't my first rodeo and it will get mostly disassembled anyway. New fenders, hood, doors, deck lid and nose transplant.

Besides even a same color repaint, in my opinion, is hack if you don't repaint the jambs, underhood and trunk.
