just got in this new project this month. pretty much all stock except for the crazt looking mirrors and aftermarket radio and non-functional electric fuel pump (that i threw out). has original paint factory sunroof and very little rust....its been sitting for a couple years so im starting on the mechanics. i believe this originally came from CA as the previous title indicates this. been in dry CO since '82 or so..plan on restoring to mostly stock.

Looks like a great project! Any updates? My 1600 also came from Colorado... that one came up for sale a day or two after I bought mine. Yours is less rusty than mine, though mine was in regular use.

thanks! been trying to log updates at my site classicbimmers.com . not too much up there but slowly i'll get there. its funny that you should respond to this cause i met the guy you bought your car from up in denver a day after he sent yours out. he mentioned that you were interested in his sahara 1600 but you got his malaga instead. the sahara had too many body and rust issues even for a body/refinisher like me so i had to pass. never saw any pics of your malaga, hows that working for you?
