Funny but realistically correct article on "The Eight Stages of Restoration".

I think everyone here can identify with Pete's observations.

I'll only provide the stages- you must read the article:

1) The lightning clap of inspiration

2) The Hunt

3) The Homecoming

4) Disassembly and the Road to Amnesia

5) The Bead Blaster Years

6) Order from chaos

7) Resurrection

8) Driving around and gradually losing your mind

Crap!

According to the list I'm only halfway done with my E30M3.

I'm currently in the 4.1 stage of excavating the idle carcass within my garage. I could actually reach in and touch a fender yesterday.

Here is a pic I just took.

Probably the closest I have been able to get to the car in more than a year (or two).

Seriously, I started down the slippery slope of rebuilding things on a 20 year old car with 250k miles. Under that cover, and in plastic bins, and in the rafters are all the bits to rebuild it. New brakes, suspension, hoses, etc...

The delays began when we started on some home projects- a new roof, new electrical, flooring, a sunroom, etc... All kinds of stuff was stuffed into the garage. At the end of these projects in November I started to reclaim the garage as well as doing my own remodel for ~my room~.

Soon, I will get the bug spray out and get back into it.

Steve - thank for the info. I'm curious to see under the cover.
