Quarter Panel, Trunk Floor & Rear Panel replacement

Anyone point me to a FAQ for any one of these topics? Quarter panel especially, as it appears you have to cut out some of the "c" pillar. What's the best way to keep everything square once you remove panels? Just looking for some pointers before I start cutting.

Restored & painted in2002, rear ended in2002, restored again in?

YIPES!

I'd start by pulling everything back into place first.

That way, you can do all your pulling on panels you

plan to replace, and your base dimensions

can get re- established. Also, it'll help show you how

things underneath have/haven't moved...

The base of the rear inner fender looks folded (hard to tell, though)

and look at the attachment points (out of the picture) that I've drawn

arrows pointing towards... A lot of times, force gets transferred through

structures that lie in a direction parallel to the hit, and the

next perpendicular actually gets distorted, as it's the weak point.

If it was me, I'd try to find a rear quarter clip off a parts car--

comes pre- assembled, and honestly, it's easier than replacing

parts. You can then put your seams where they make sense for the

damage, not where they made sense for assembly 40+ years ago.

Good luck.

You can find various photos on the web by searching the 2002 restoration sites. These may help you. C-pillars cut *after* you get the replacement quarter panel, 6-8" above crease. Check chassis alignment with dimensions in McCarthy book.
