Mechanical fuel pump

I'm stuck at work with no tools, so you know. This is why I am asking..

I smelled fuel when I arrived today and popped the hood to find a leaking fuel pump. Its 2 months new from Rockauto. Seems to be leaking around the top seam. Is there an O ring or a gasket in there that I need to be careful of when I get around to finding a wrench to tighten the center bolt?

...well . . . . . it might have a nylon mesh filter,

also serving as the seal for the cover,

or it might have a rubber, or it might nhave a thin

fiber gasket, or the leak is really coming from the right

hand (as we are looking at your photo)

hose fitting - which looks like an adapter,

maybe pressed on, maybe your leak................

you need to dig into it

or replace it with a 'quality pump'

Its definitely drooling around the center, not the hose fitting. Its the same pump brand/type that was on the car when I got it. BMW wanted 160.00 for what I assumed was the same piece.. So I thought I did good. But I'm no expert.

--Its really an oddball piece? HM.
