engine and drivetrain 5 spd conversion question

So I hammered out the transmission tunnel for the slave cylinder and put the 5 spd into place. I did not notice that it was still very close where the transmission housing that holds the slave cylinder is located. I would like to make a bit more room without pulling the trans again. Has anyone successfully put a pry bar into that area and widened it? It only needs like a quarter inch or so. Thanks in advance for any guidance.

air chisel with a blunt tip did the trick for me

i'd use a wooden wedge to gently adjust the sheetmetal. don't need to deform very much. too much and you'll have problems with the accelerator pedal clearance.

also watch for pinching against the hard brake lines just above the transmission.

If it rubs, it will rub through.

I wouldn't pry against the slave cylinder. The trans case can take it a little, but the slave can't.

You probably aren't doing that, but just in case.....
