Sad but true. This is why I never liked the trend of car manufacturers buying the teams. It's so easy for board of executives to pull the plug when business goes down but when a team is owned by someone who's life is F1 it's different.

as Mercedes has had many problems over the years but stuck it out.

Robert Kubica is a valuable property and if Massa can't continue you might just see him at Ferrari next year, and with the new teams even Heidfeld might still be in F1.

I'm sorry to see this as well....but, I'm tired of getting up in the wee hours to see BMW at the back of the pack "again"! If they can't be competitive, then quitting is fine with me. No surprise to me whatsoever. I just hope F1 can return to some form of good competitiveness in the near future.

It's nice to "not" see Ferrari dominate like it did in the Shumacher days, but all the ridiculous rules makes for "boring" races IMO.
