New radiator, water pump, thermostat, water housing, sending units, belt, fan, and all hoses installed! This was pretty easy and took about 6 hours.

Some pictures of the new stance (IE stage one springs, urethane bushings, 22 mm sway bars, Bilstein Sports, strut tower bearings with 5/8 degree fixed camber plates. New motor mounts, 320i trans mount, sub frame mounts with inserts installed. The suspension work took about 35 hours including making a bushing puller out of PVC section and some big bolts with washers. The work was pretty easy from a technical standpoint but it was A LOT of grunt work!!

I did all of this myself where the car is pictured (behind my townhouse) without the convenience of a garage. Fortunately, the home owner's association has not formed yet and the property manager loves the car (read: no letters citing violation of the rules!!!!).

Now the engine rebuild...

Head off. #1 cylinder showing some pitting but did not need to be bored, as you will see in later pictures.

Pistons out and look good. Bearings were all fine.

New lower timing chain cover, courtesy Sherman Martinez.

Since my head was cracked I bought a used one from Double '02 Salvage and had it rebuilt.

After honing and new rings.

All the cylinders cleaned up nicely with good cross hatching.

So, as of right now the car is all back together and running great.

The suspension work has done wonders, and the engine is fantastic.

I'm really enjoying the sound of the TEP 4 into 1 header and TEP resonator with the Ansa Sport muffler. Perhaps a little loud for some but so far I like it!

Next up is installing the VDO oil temp, oil press, and water temp gauges in the center console. I will also be taking on the job of some much needed detailing.

Hey Marshall! Thank for the compliments on the car. Yours really is coming along nicely. You are taking longer, but going through it sooo thoroughly. I envy that sweet garage setup you have! One of these days we'll have to unit our cars at a show!

Bryan - you've done a lot of work on your tii. Congrats on doing it outside at a townhouse!

What are you going to do with the original wheels? Want to sell them?
