Flashback prices: Bimmer Parts 1984

Check out these low prices in an ad from Bimmer Parts Co. in the Feb. 1984 Roundel. The fenders, weatherstrip and belt line trim kit prices were insane back then.

I'm 64 years old now, so when I think back 25 years ago you can bet your sweet ass that its not about car parts...................

I was in 12th grade 2/84 and driving this. Nothing like bald snow tires to kick the rear end out on an old car. Yeee-Haa! The only thing I could afford to buy for it was a "Thunderbird" header with glass-pack muffler.

Edit: I also got (1) new running board. The left side didn't even have one at the time. Notice the rear-end kind of "jacked up". The rear torsion bars were so weak I had to pull up the rear of the car at both fenders to make it more presentable in the picture. Still 6V with stock AM radio at this point.
